Do you run around looking for your phone while you are talking about it? Or your glasses while they are on top of your head? Are you in a constant frantic hurry mode and never seem to get things done on your list? Busy being so busy that we’ve forgotten what you’re even busy doing. And whether those things are filling you or draining you?
Too many interruptions, distractions, too much information, too many demands, and being overstimulated all keep your mind racing backwards and forwards, feeling distracted, worried, and increasingly stressed. Instead of having a clear focus and getting things done, you can’t seem to get started on your tasks and end up feeling unfocused and perpetually frazzled.
Neuroscientists call the optimal brain state for getting work done “flow.” Full focus is critical to entering a flow state. When our brains are in this zone we are more likely to perform at our personal best.
